About Foam
Folks use our foam for sofas, chairs, window seats, mattresses, or
mattress toppers. Polyurethane, also known as polyfoam, is typically used for these
purposes. Polyurethane foam is considered hypoallergenic, and does not promote the
growth of mold or bacteria. Foam is flexible and easy to transport or carry.
We know some folks have used our foam for costumes, for padding around poles, to protect
children in houses, to protect cars in garages, and to block out cold air or muffle noise
from windows or doors. We also have Specialized foam for
packaging, camera cases, outdoor furniture, boats, camping and much more. So, even
we are sometimes surprised by the extent to which creative folks have used our products.
Polyurethane foam is available in a variety of sizes, qualities,
firmnesses and thicknesses, that can be used for:

Polyurethane foam is available in a variety of grades, including: soft, medium, firm,
and special grades that are for backs of chairs, and others that are specifically
designed for mattress toppers -- to soften or harden uncomfortable mattresses or futons.
The basic foam grades we offer include:
Standard Polyfoam (SPF)
- A versatile foam for all basic needs. The most common type of foam used in
furniture.
- Budget priced for good value.
- This foam will soften with use.
Better Polyfoam (BPF)
- BPF is firmer than SPF. BPF will soften with use, but it is more resistant to
softening than SPF, and provides significant performance over SPF.
- BPF gives satisfactory wear at a reasonable price when higher cost, higher performance
foams are not needed.
- BPF is often the foam of choice inside boats or campers.
Premium Polyfoam (PPF) *
- PPF is available in soft, medium and firm.
- It provides more comfort, and greater durability then SPF or BPF.
- PPF gives both high performance and economy.
Ultimate Polyfoam (UPF) *
- UPF is the ultimate in polyurethane foams. It is incredibly resilient and durable.
Its cell structure provides strong cell bonds.
- UPF is available in soft, medium and firm.
- UPF is used in the best quality furniture and bedding because it provides superior
comfort and durability. UPF has a softer surface feel that conforms to the body, but
its high strength properties give deep, firm support and ultimate comfort.
Visco Elastic (Memory Foam) *
- Visco Elastic (Memory Foam) is sensitive to body heat and weight.
It is designed to conform to your body without exerting upward pressure.
- To achieve the maximum comfort of a Visco foam mattress, we recommend layering it on
top of a soft compression off PPF or UPF foam.
* Note: Density is often thought of as firmness, but the properties are really quite
different. Lesser qualities can be made to feel firm, but will be more susceptible
to fatigue. Better qualities of foam are more stable and do not soften down so
quickly.
